A technical walkthrough for establishing a secure connection to the darkmatter market infrastructure. Follow these standard operating procedures to ensure proper encryption and anonymity.

Identity & Recovery

Upon registration, you will be presented with a Mnemonic Seed. This sequence of words is the cryptographic key to your account.

Note: Administrators cannot recover lost passwords. The mnemonic is your only fallback.

PGP & 2FA Implementation

To finalize account security, navigate to your user settings and import your PGP Public Key.

  1. Generate a Keypair (RSA 4096 or ED25519).
  2. Paste the "Public Key Block" into your profile settings.
  3. Decrypt the verification message provided by the server.
  4. Enter the verification code to bind the key.

Enable 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication)

Once your key is bound, enable 2FA. This requires you to decrypt a PGP message every time you login, preventing access even if your password is compromised.

Wallet & Currency

The platform operates on a wallet-less or direct-deposit system depending on the current architecture configuration, primarily utilizing Monero (XMR).

XMR

Privacy: Ring Signatures obscure sender/receiver.

Confirmations: Requires 10 blocks (approx 20 mins) to unlock funds.

Order Protocol & Escrow

Understand the transaction types before engaging.

Escrow (Standard)

Funds are held by the market protocol until the order is finalized by the user or auto-finalized by the timer.

Finalize Early (FE)

Funds are released immediately to the vendor. Only recommended for highly trusted vendors.
